Welcome to JWest

Jewish at heart, open to all

Join us as we revitalize the site of the current Jewish Community Centre in the Oakridge neighbourhood with the development of a new, vibrant, and inclusive community hub.

What is JWest?

The JWest project is at the forefront of the Oakridge neighbourhood transformation, addressing some of Vancouver's most pressing challenges, including housing, childcare, and senior care. Rooted in Jewish heritage, the new campus will serve as a dynamic centre for the community, welcoming people of all backgrounds to participate in its programs, services, and activities.

JWest will become the largest privately funded Jewish community campus in Canada. As part of the revitalization of the Cambie-Oakridge corridor, the project includes three key components: a larger, modern Jewish Community Centre, an expanded King David High School with state-of-the-art facilities, and two residential towers rising 37 and 39 storeys. Twenty percent of the residential units will be allocated to a non-profit housing society, helping address Vancouver's growing need for affordable housing while supporting a diverse and vibrant neighbourhood.

The project is being delivered in phases to ensure there is no disruption to existing community programs and services. The first phases include the new Jewish Community Centre, King David High School, and residential towers, while Phase 3 will introduce a new underground parking facility to support the campus and surrounding community.

With rezoning now approved and the development permit process well underway, JWest remains on track for groundbreaking in fall 2026, creating a vibrant community hub that will serve generations to come.
